Is it safe to go to the Philippines to meet a female who you have contacted through the Internet dating site?
I want to go and meet a female that I’ve contacted through an internet dating site, is it safe to go on my own or should I enlist the services of a local tour guide
Wait before I answer this q, let me say a few quick things.
The Philippines is a third World country with its fair share of people with not the best of intentions, but I believe that it is not as bad as what many people perceive it to be.
If you are going to the Philippines, learn about the place, its sights & sounds, it tourist spots & it’s people & culture, it’s all online.
If you are are little bit on the edge, remember that almost anybody you would meet over there speaks english or can understand it. Almost all the media, the signages, the menus, etc. are in english. You are never far away from help if needed. Learn about the hot spots & stay away from it. Get a good decent place to stay, a nice hotel if you must in the major cities, Manila, Makati, Cebu, etc. And enlist the services of a local tour guide if you want to. But generally Filipinos are very hospitable & helpful but a few might do so for not the best of intentions.
Do your touring first before you meet up with your new female “friend”. Make friends with the people you get to meet in your hotel & in the places you would go to.
And then after all that, you can go meet up with your with friend. Tell her to meet you in a safe public place, such as the cafe inside your hotel, a fancy restaurant or in a local starbucks or some place public & safe.
Act normal, use common sense & bring your manners & your sense of humor.
