looking for marriage
I am looking for marriage records with in the last 10 years i do not have to pay for suggestions?

Since “Mother’s maiden name?” is a common question in banks and credit cards, and bride’s maiden name is on marriage records, and it it no one’s business if someone gets married in June and delivers an 8-pound baby in October, almost all free on-line marriage records less than 80 years old have been taken off the Internet. They are much stricter about giving out paper copies at the county clerk’s office, too, for the same reasons.

IF you know the date within a week or two AND live near the county, you can look through the “vital records” section of the local newspaper on microfilm at the county library, for free; but note there are two big If’s there.

Sorry; some Q have no good answers.

Mike Monaghan is the bartender at the Engine Room, a meeting place for the small but thriving community of gay men in Cold Falls, New York. As Mike pours beer, wipes glasses and hears everything, he?s also witness to the men who come here looking for what they need?sex, direction, friendship, spiritual fulfillment, and love. People like: Stephen Darby? As an accountant, he knows many secrets. But Stephen has his own secret, one he?s never been able to share with anyone close to him. Being the perfect son costs him dearly, and now it may take from him the one man he longs for. Pete Thayer?Playing it straight, Pete takes out his frustrations on transmissions and engines during the day, then spends his nights trying to quench his needs through anonymous sex. But once the thrill of the forbidden begins to fade, what will he be left with? John and Russell? The golden couple in town has the ideal relationship everyone wants. But behind the scenes, their storybook marriage is on the verge of facing some explosive trials that will shake both men completely. Father Thomas Dunn?More and more the gentle priest is feeling a need to express the secret desires that conflict with his devotion to the church, sending his faith into a tailspin and making him question what he really wants from life. Simon Bird? He?s a fixture in town, an old queen everyone finds amusing and entertaining. Still mourning the loss of his longtime lover, Simon yearns to find love and a place in a culture that worships youth and beauty. As Mike hands these men their drinks, he marvels at their determination, strength and foolishness. But most of all, he begins to question his own dissatisfaction, pondering what?s missing from his own life, and what risks he may have to take to find fulfillment. Looking For It is an extraordinarily human tale of community, friendship, and the search for happiness. With unflinching honesty, keen insight, and his trademark humor, Michael Thomas Ford weaves together the unforgettable stories of these seven men, chronicling their dreams, hurts, heartbreaks, joys, and hopes, while taking readers on an emotional journey to find what it is we?re all looking for.

The Marriage Mender The Marriage Mender

WHERE DID THE ROMANCE GO? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PASSION? WHY ISN'T OUR MARRIAGE LIKE IT USED TO BE? Remember how you felt on your wedding day? You were happy and in love and planned to stay that way for the rest of your life. But when was the last time you felt like that? "Did I make a mistake and marry the wrong person?" you wonder. Marriage is more than just finding the "right" person-it's about working with your spouse through the natural stages of your marriage and growing into a loving, life-long relationship. But when things are rough and don't seem to be getting any better, wouldn't it be easier to call it quits and start from scratch? If you're looking for a fresh start, The Marriage Mender will give you the solution-based tools you need to begin rebuilding your marriage. With illustrations and exercises, it will teach you how to look to the future of your relationship instead of focusing on the past with its problems. The Marriage Benefit The Marriage Benefit
$23.99

Baby boomers' expectations for their marriages are often unrealistic. When their relationship comes up short on romance and sex, but seems long on disagreements and strife, many boomers choose to leave. THE MARRIAGE BENEFIT is less a book about how to make our relationships better than it is about how our relationships can make us better if we just work on our expectations and improve communications. Harvard Medical School clinical instructor and psychotherapist O'Connell offers a peek behind the door of a marriage therapist, where readers can see that their problems are not unique. Through wonderfully revealing anecdotes of couples with problems many of us face: long-held bitterness, diminished sexuality, the scars of infidelity, and the search for authentic meaning, O'Connell shows how by respecting each other's individuality, looking for "real" sex, and learning how to play with each other again, we can reap the benefits of the long-term emotional investment we've made.

Hallie, an organized, goal-setting kind of person, gives herself a year to meet Mr. Knight...In Shining Armor. But all her dates are disasters. (There’s the cheapskate and the sex fiend and...well, never mind.). Too bad she can’t just fall for her good-looking neighbor Steve Marris--who’s definitely not her type. Anyway, Steve’s busy trying to win back his ex-wife, Mary Lynn, who’s busy getting married--but not to Steve. Life would be so much simpler if he could fall for someone else. Like...Hallie. Monogamy is in present times generally prevalent in the entire civilized world. The monogamian family gradually and slowly grew out of the Syndiasmian. It is based upon exclusive cohabitation between one man and one woman, theoretically for life. According to Morgan's hypothesis, it owes its existence to the wish of establishing paternity with certainty for purposes of inheritance. As I said before, I do not fully agree with this hypothesis, although the motive of establishing fath- ership with certainty may have been very powerful toward maintaining monogamy after its establishment and with the continued growth of property. From my studies, I conclude that there must have been a more direct economic reason for it, although it cannot be denied that there was, probably, always a close relationship between marriage and inheritance. So, for instance, we find in the Pentateuch (Numbers, ch. 36), that the members of the tribe of Joseph objected to the marriage of the daughters of Zelaphahad out of the tribe, because, as they said: Then shall the inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe, whereunto they are received; and that by the decision of the Lord, they were not allowed to marry out of the tribe. But we find that the objection was purely economic, and that there was not a bit of sentimentality about it. Those who objected did so in their own interest, not only in that of their progeny. At that time monogamy was not yet known, and land v:as held in common within the tribe. The common ownership of land secured to every member of the tribe at least a subsistence. With the establishment of private ownership in land, however, and especially after the tribal relation had ceased to be a-part of...

From the inimitable Anne Tyler, a rich and compelling novel about a mismatched marriage--and its consequences, spanning three generations.brThey seemed like the perfect couple--young, good-looking, made for each other. The moment Pauline, a stranger to the Polish Eastern Avenue neighborhood of Baltimore (though she lived only twenty minutes away), walked into his mother's grocery store, Michael was smitten. And in the heat of World War II fervor, they are propelled into a hasty wedding. But they never should have married.brPauline, impulsive, impractical, tumbles hit-or-miss through life; Michael, plodding, cautious, judgmental, proceeds deliberately. While other young marrieds, equally ignorant at the start, seemed to grow more seasoned, Pauline and Michael remain amateurs. In time their foolish quarrels take their toll. Even when they find themselves, almost thirty years later, loving, instant parents to a little grandson named Pagan, whom they rescue from Haight-Ashbury, they still cannot bridge their deep-rooted differences. Flighty Pauline clings to the notion that the rifts can always be patched. To the unyielding Michael, they become unbearable.brFrom the sound of the cash register in the old grocery to the counterculture jargon of the sixties, from the miniskirts to the multilayered apparel of later years, Anne Tyler captures the evocative nuances of everyday life during these decades with such telling precision that every page brings smiles of recognition. Throughout, as each of the competing voices bears witness, we are drawn ever more fully into the complex entanglements of family life in this wise, embracing, and deeply perceptive novel. From the inimitable Anne Tyler, a rich and compelling novel about a mismatched marriage--and its consequences, spanning three generations.brThey seemed like the perfect couple--young, good-looking, made for each other. Marriage and Families Marriage and Families

In this fresh, more structural, alternative to other texts for the marriage and family course, Seccombe and Warner provide a comprehensive look at close relationships and the family in just 15 chapters. Examining close relationships and families by placing them in social context, the authors offer a unique emphasis on the structural and relational aspects of the family with a focus on family resilience. The text weaves together a macro view ? social structural analysis of close relationships- with the macro ? an individualist view. The authors demonstrate the interaction of theory and methodology in family studies in Chapter 2 and blend cutting-edge research and practical applications throughout. Among the highlights of this first edition are the exceptionally thorough exploration of the topics of singlehood and cohabitation in Chapter 7 and the unique six-chapter core (8-13) that focuses on all aspects of parenthood and the challenges and crises that families face today. The authors' emphasis on family resilience and how families can be strengthened is reflected in the "Constructing Strong Families" boxes that appear throughout the text. These features encourage students to apply groundbreaking research on what makes a family strong to their own families and in the concluding chapter, "Looking Ahead: Helping Families Flourish," which examines the factors that successful families ?regardless of ethnicity, culture, or social class?consistently exhibit.

Marriage and Modernization: How Globalization Threatens Marriage and W Marriage and Modernization: How Globalization Threatens Marriage and W
$21.5

A realistic, constructive look at modern threats to married life The processes of modernization and globalization promise more wealth and health for many people. But they are also a threat to the stability and quality of marriage and family life. This new book -- at once sobering and constructive -- looks at the impact of these processes on marriage and asks what Christianity, in cooperation with other religions, can do to strengthen married life today. Among the deleterious effects of modernization and globalization on marriage are a worldwide drift of men away from the responsibility of parenthood and the tendency of mothers too readily to take on the task of childrearing alone. After looking at recent research on these and other problems, Don Browning suggests that the cure for modern marital disruption entails reforming and reconstructing the institution of marriage while also nurturing relevant forms of social support. Yet the effort to initiate a world marriage revival requires a complex cultural work, and Browning explores the key contributions that the religions of the world must make for such an effort to be successful. The processes of modernization and globalization promise more wealth and health for many people.
