Really! Who takes online ‘dating’ and ’singles’ sites seriously??
Its not effective: you can’t see the person and don’t tell me eye contact and mimics are not important when determining your future lifepartner. You might spend countless days chatting away with some ‘mate’ and when you meet up it might become disappointingly obvious that you are just plainly not a match! There is just no charm in those online services – they don’t have the spark! I think these sites are sorta weird and people will somtimes lie in their profiles too… So who thinks its absurd? Or on the contrary?
I agree that it’s an absurd concept as well. I’ve had people tell me they found people they really liked on dating sites, but they met soon after exchanging e-mails. It seems even creepier when people talk for months without meeting face to face and then believe they’ve found true love. Yeah…right. There’s too many predators in the world for me to trust a web site to connect with anyone. There’s no independent means to verify what someone tells you and that’s no time to take someone on faith. So I don’t take the sites seriously either.
