How do I restore my computer to an earlier date? My computer keeps stopping and starting?

I had spybot on the computer and it kept telling me to accept or deny everytime I went to a different site so I got fed up with that and took it all off and now my computer keeps rebooting and I want to restore it to an earlier date to see if this helps but I forget how to do that.

1.Log on to Windows as Administrator.

2.Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.

3.On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
